Call 03:09
I wanna call you I wanna call But the woman upstairs And down the hall Said I really shouldn’t Not that I couldn’t I wanna call you I wanna call But the woman upstairs And down the hall Said I really shouldn’t Not that I couldn’t and We will run to the weeping willow Your back my pillow The sky is orange The air is tender And I remember I wanna call you I wanna call But the woman upstairs And down the hall Said I really shouldn’t Not that I couldn’t cause There are days when we run away Leave the world behind And you face the sea But you look at me And you set me free so I Could call I wanna call you I wanna call But the woman upstairs And down the hall Said I really shouldn’t Not that I couldn’t

Your Name 03:08
Even your name It’s too much for me today Moving through the dark I am a shadow Passing over faces that I don’t know When you look my way I am a window Pull the curtains and see how they blow Even your name It’s too much for me today No there’s no one else on earth who does it to me As I’m watching you walk out the door For the love of something sacred you undo me But I won’t suffer anymore Even your name It’s too much for me today (I know what I gotta do but I don’t wanna do it now)

Longing 02:52
On the other side of longing There seems to be more longing On the other side Everything that I need is right here on my sleeve So I can’t hide On the other side of longing Hold me down Lift me up Bring my lips To the cup On the other side of sorrow There seems to be more sorrow On the other side So don’t bother to hide cause I’ve already tried And he still lied On the other side of sorrow Hold me down Lift me up Bring my lips To the cup

Believers 03:03
Should we become believers then She wondered Sitting far beneath the never-dark sky Full of thunder Would it render these worries impotent And our lives strong as oxen We’d never look back again She wondered And he wondered Across the many miles Her spirit wandered To where he sat surrounded By stars and bugs and wilderness For a moment they felt unlonely in their loneliness Palms to faces Mouths to ears

about

I started recording this album by myself in a cabin in the woods of New Hampshire. The songs sounded different than anything else I had written, which was exciting and a little scary because they didn't sound "like me" or like what I had come to think of as "me." They gathered dust for a while while I bounced from East to South and finally landed West.

When I played the demos for my dear friend Matt "Narducci" Silberman in his Burbank studio, I knew I had found the perfect collaborator. We achieved full mind-meld on these tracks. His precision, care and ridiculous talent made all of this possible. I couldn't have done it without him.

Big love to Raky, Pete and Dominic for sharing their gifts here. Derek Eads will always make the most beautiful album art and Shervin Lainez takes the best pics. I love Dylan, George and Mae and I miss hugging my mom.
